Grade Overview
The Workhorse Superalloys
Inconel 718 — often written IN718 or "Inco 718" — is the most widely used nickel superalloy in the world. Strengthened by niobium and titanium precipitation, it retains strength to roughly 700°C and dominates jet engine disks, shafts, casings and fasteners, as well as rocket hardware, nuclear components and high-strength oilfield tooling.
Inconel 625 trades some of that strength for exceptional corrosion resistance, with a higher nickel content and molybdenum addition. It appears in chemical plant internals, subsea equipment, heat exchangers and aerospace ducting. Both grades carry meaningful nickel, chromium and molybdenum value — which is why they are among the most sought-after superalloy scrap streams.
Because the two grades look nearly identical, sellers often mix them unknowingly. At ABCOM every lot is verified by XRF and, where required, spark OES, then sorted into segregated, mill-ready classifications. That verification step is what turns mixed scrap into premium material.

Grading & Valuation
How We Grade Your Material
Every Inconel lot moves through a documented process: compositional verification by XRF or spark OES, density and form classification, and contamination checks for steel attachments, tungsten carbide tooling residue, and free-machining additives. Clean, well-separated solids earn the strongest valuations; mixed or contaminated lots are sorted at our facilities with results shared transparently.
Settlement pricing tracks nickel, chromium, molybdenum and niobium market levels at the time of the transaction. For larger lots we can inspect and seal containers at the generating site — a common arrangement for buyers and sellers across the Gulf, India and Europe who ship through our Singapore and Turkish bases.

What is Inconel 718 scrap worth?
Inconel 718 scrap value depends on form and contamination. Clean solids — rings, disks, forgings, plate — command the strongest returns, while turnings and mixed grades trade at a discount pending sorting. How is Inconel 718 different from 625?
Inconel 718 is a nickel-iron superalloy strengthened with niobium for high-strength applications such as turbine disks and fasteners. Inconel 625 contains more nickel and molybdenum with no deliberate niobium addition in most variants, prioritising corrosion resistance in chemical and marine service. They look similar and require XRF or spark OES to separate reliably.
What forms of Inconel scrap do you buy?
We purchase solids (rings, disks, shafts, forgings, plate and bar cut-offs), turnings and swarf, sheet and tubing offcuts, spent jet engine and gas turbine components, and surplus inventory. Material can be graded at our Singapore or Kocaeli facilities.
Do you accept mixed Inconel loads?
Yes, but mixed loads are priced after sorting and compositional verification. Where possible, keep 718 separated from 625 and from stainless or carbon steel attachments — cleaner separation at source consistently produces better returns for the seller.
Can you collect material from any country?
We move material globally through our Singapore trading desk and Turkish processing base, with logistics partners covering the Gulf, India, Europe, and the Americas. For large lots we can arrange inspection at the generating site before shipment.
